2024 Spring Meeting in Boone County

The 2024 Spring Meeting of the Democratic Woman's Club of Kentucky was held in Boone County on April 6! Thanks to the Boone County Democratic Woman's Club, led by Laural Bishop as president, for sponsoring the well-attended event. A social gathering on Friday evening, with food and drink, was held at the Comfort Inns and Suites. The Saturday meeting was held at the Local 44 Ironworkers Hall in Hebron, Kentucky. Speakers included Dave Baker and Rob Barker, from the Local 44 Ironworkers, two Boone County candidates for the Kentucky House of Representatives (Wilanne Stangle and Deborah Ison Flowers), a legislative update by Representative Cherlynn Stevenson, and an election update by Janet Cowen, Boone County Board of Elections. The group also heard from two members of the judiciary, Supreme Court Justice Michelle Keller, and Pamela Goodwine, who is currently serving as Deputy Chief Judge, Court of Appeals 5th District and is a candidate for the Kentucky Supreme Court. Morgan Eaves, recently appointed Executive Director of the Kentucky Democratic Party, provided information on the delegate selection process and her strategic plan for communications going forward. A delicious box lunch was catered by Center Table, with the business meeting following. Mary Jean Dittert gave a PowerPoint on awards and Nancy Cox gave a PowerPoint on digital scrapbooks.
